Cookies and browser storage
This notice explains storage used by Landfield’s public website, optional analytics, and separate storage used by the signed-in product.
Effective 15 September 2026
01
Who provides this storage
Landfield is operated by Sandor Kohan, trading as Landfield in the Netherlands. Contact kohansandor@landfield.eu about this notice. The privacy notice explains personal data processing and your rights.
Cookies are small browser records that can be sent with web requests. localStorage keeps information for a website across browser sessions; sessionStorage normally lasts for the browser tab’s page session, including reloads. Browser privacy settings, session restoration, or clearing site data can affect these lifetimes.
02
Language and consent preferences
These entries use localStorage and are provided by Landfield. They are separate from optional Google Analytics cookies.
- landfield-lang - remembers a language preference where language detection is used. Public translated URLs determine the public page’s language. There is no automatic expiry in the application; the entry remains until changed or removed through browser/site-data controls.
- landfield-consent - remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. There is no automatic expiry in the application; it remains until you make a new choice or clear site data. Opening Cookie settings does not change the saved decision.
03
Campaign and referral session storage
Landfield captures the following URL values in sessionStorage when they are present. This capture is separate from Google Analytics and is not gated by the analytics choice. Rejecting analytics does not clear these entries. Campaign fields can accompany a demo enquiry to explain its source; a referral code can support referral attribution in product flows.
Entries normally remain for the current browser tab’s page session, including reloads, and end when that session closes. Browser session restoration may retain them. Later matching URL values can replace them, and browser/site-data controls can remove them; submitting a demo enquiry does not automatically clear them.
- lf_utm_source - Landfield; remembers the campaign source from utm_source.
- lf_utm_medium - Landfield; remembers the campaign medium from utm_medium.
- lf_utm_campaign - Landfield; remembers the campaign name from utm_campaign.
- lf_referral_code - Landfield; remembers the referral code from the ref URL parameter.
04
Optional Google Analytics cookies
Google Analytics is optional. When configured, Landfield loads it only after consent. It helps measure public page use and selected actions such as demo and pricing interactions. Accept analytics enables it; Reject analytics leaves it disabled.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies provided through Google’s analytics service. Default expiry is two years, but configuration, subsequent use, and browser limits can change the actual lifetime. The container-specific suffix varies with the configured property.
- _ga - Google Analytics; distinguishes users for analytics. Default expiry: two years, subject to configuration and browser limits.
- _ga_<container> - Google Analytics; maintains session state. Google documents this as _ga_<container-id>. Default expiry: two years, subject to configuration and browser limits.
05
Change or withdraw your choice
Use Cookie settings in the footer to reopen the consent controls at any time. Accept analytics and Reject analytics have equal prominence. Your saved choice continues to apply until you explicitly select one of them.
To withdraw analytics consent, reopen Cookie settings and choose Reject analytics. The application stops its analytics events, disables the configured Google Analytics measurement, updates analytics storage consent to denied, and attempts to clear accessible _ga cookies. Browser controls can remove remaining cookies, including copies with a different domain or path.
Withdrawal applies to future consent-based processing and does not undo processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal. Clearing cookies or site data can remove preferences and cause the consent prompt to appear again. Blocking storage can affect language preferences, sign-in, or other features.
Google’s cookie documentation describes its cookie names and defaults; its data collection documentation explains analytics storage and consent controls.
06
Separate product-only storage
The following Landfield localStorage entries belong to product account/session features and are not required to read the public marketing pages. They may already exist in your browser if you have used the product.
- landfield-auth - Landfield; stores authentication tokens, sign-in state, and basic user information for product access. The storage entry has no automatic expiry; tokens have their own validity. Signing out or clearing authentication resets the stored credentials and user state, while the entry may remain. Browser/site-data controls can remove it.
- landfield-recording-consent - Landfield; remembers an agreed or declined recording-consent answer for each session to avoid repeated prompts on reconnect. It has no automatic expiry or automatic sign-out clearing in the current implementation; it remains until updated or browser/site data is cleared. This local reminder does not replace server-side participant consent requirements.
07
External features and updates
Google sign-in, bot protection where enabled on product account forms, and external payment or other provider features may involve their own browser storage and policies when those features are used. The public marketing inventory above does not describe every provider-hosted page.
We may update this notice when storage or features change. The effective date identifies this version. For storage questions or a privacy request, contact kohansandor@landfield.eu.
